Osteoarthritis Is Brutal
Not brutal because your knee suddenly breaks down.
Brutal because your body tells you for years:
“Hey. Something is wrong here.”
And you answer:
“Yeah, yeah, later.”
People regularly take their sports car to the workshop, but drive their own body straight into the wall.
You have to imagine that for a moment.
Someone sits there with a 120,000-euro watch on their wrist, but drinks three coffees all day, two small glasses of water, sleeps four hours, and eats sugar in between like a 14-year-old on a school trip.
And then, at 52, they wonder:
“Why does my knee hurt?”
Because your body is not a Tesla.
You cannot mistreat it for years and then simply install an update.
Under Your Skin, There Is No Concrete Factory
People always think of osteoarthritis as “damaged bone.”
But they do not understand their own body.
Under your skin, everything is happening at once:
water
blood
fascia
tissue
muscles
lymph
nerves
tension
pressure
inflammation
There is an entire universe living down there.
And right in the middle of it stands this bone.
Hard.
Still.
Like a rock.
But even a rock breaks eventually.
If you attack a stone constantly, it develops tiny holes.
Then it becomes porous and begins to crumble.
That is exactly what happens in the body.
Not overnight.
Slowly.
Quietly.
Over years.
Osteoarthritis Does Not Suddenly Explode
That is the great lie.
People say:
“Suddenly, I could not walk anymore.”
No.
Suddenly, you had to listen.
The problem was already there before.
Your body had been sounding the alarm for a long time:
tension
pressure
morning stiffness
fatigue
heavy legs
inflammation
fluid in the joint
pulling sensations
cracking
But people are world champions at looking away.
Especially successful people.
They simply keep functioning.
More appointments.
More pressure.
More sugar.
More sitting.
More alcohol.
More medication against symptoms.
And less and less feeling for their own body.
Until, at some point, it goes:
Bang.
Then the knee is “suddenly broken.”
Then the Classic Osteoarthritis Game Begins
You go to the orthopedist.
MRI.
X-ray.
Waiting room.
Looking at images.
Then someone sits in front of you and says:
“You have stage 3 osteoarthritis.”
“Maybe already stage 4.”
“The cartilage is worn down.”
Okay.
And now?
Then often the same cycle begins:
brace
painkillers
physiotherapy
injections
hyaluronic acid
autologous blood therapy
anti-inflammatory medication
And if that does not help?
Surgery.
And if THAT does not help?
Another surgery.
And at some point, you sit somewhere at a barbecue and say:
“I have already had three knee operations.”
As if that were normal.
And when nothing works anymore:
artificial knee
artificial hip
artificial shoulder
As long as it is artificial.
Of course modern medicine can help people.
Of course operations can make sense.
Of course there are situations where interventions are important.
But the real question is:
Why did the body end up there?
Many people no longer ask that.
They only want:
“Make it go away.”
Pain away.
Signal away.
Problem away.
But the body does not work like that.
Many People Are Sedated Into Functioning
And this is the point hardly anyone talks about.
Many people live for years in this half-functioning state:
painkillers
less movement
worse sleep
more weight
more frustration
less energy
The body is throttled down.
Feel as little as possible.
Somehow keep going.
And yes — medication can be important.
But if you only numb the pain and never understand why your body is screaming in the first place, a cycle begins.
A cycle of:
symptoms
suppression
deterioration
the next intervention
And at some point, you think:
“Well. That is just age.”
No.
Often, it is a lifestyle that has worked against the body for years.
Stress Eats People Alive
Osteoarthritis is not just “the knee.”
The whole human being is involved.
Stress.
Sleep.
Movement.
Nutrition.
Constant tension.
Emotional strain.
Inflammation in the body.
Too little regeneration.
Many successful people live completely against their biology.
Always on.
Always under pressure.
Always performing.
The body can endure that for a long time.
But not forever.
People Are Disconnected From Themselves
They know everything about stock markets, revenue, and strategies.
But nothing about their own body.
They no longer feel themselves.
And that is often where the catastrophe begins.
Because healing does not begin with pills.
Healing begins where you look again.
Where you become honest.
Where you stop treating your body like a machine.
In the End, Everyone Decides for Themselves
And without judgment.
If someone says:
“I just want to function. Give me medication. Operate on me. The main thing is that I do not feel anything.”
Then that is their decision.
But decisions have consequences.
Always.
And if someone eventually says:
“Okay. Maybe osteoarthritis is not just bad luck. Maybe my body endured something for years that I ignored.”
Then something new begins.
Then responsibility begins.
Not guilt.
Responsibility.
More water.
More movement.
Less inflammation.
Better sleep.
Less constant stress.
Better nutrition.
More connection to your own body.
No miracles.
No magic.
But real change.
And Now Comes the Good News
The body does not want to work against you.
It fights for you every day.
Even when you have ignored it for years.
That is incredibly beautiful.
And perhaps dear God built it that way on purpose:
so that you yourself have influence.
Even on your osteoarthritis.
And perhaps healing begins exactly in the moment
you stop running away from your own body.
